Last winter, I was going through my grandpa's work shop when I found (among other amazing things) a pile of antler pieces. He was a hunter, and had quite a few dear heads and even a moose head in his basement. I guess he had some extra antlers that he wanted to turn into jewelry for us grand kids. He had cut the antler up into slices, and some of them had details in them already. He was amazing at using the scroll saw, and I'm sure was planning on adding some details to all the slices. I decided to take 2 slices, not sure what I would do with them.
About a month ago, I decided to make them into earnings because I was tired of see them just sit there on my desk, and since it looked like he was planning on turning them into jewelry, it seemed appropriate.
I went to a local jewelry shop, Pretty Chic with my two slices of antler and asked if they could turn them into earrings. Normally, I would just want to do it myself, but I only had two pieces, and I really didn't want to mess it up. Thankfully, she said she could do it! I just got them back last thursday, and I am thrilled! I can't wait to show my grandma when I go visit in December.
