I reupholstered my first chair! I found this sweet thing at a 2nd hand store for $10, and had the fabric on hand. So it was a cheap and cheerful project.
I didn't remove the red fabric first, I just upholstered two layers of fabric over the red. I think if I did it again I would remove the red fabric, it has a different texture, so I can kind of feel it when I sit on the chair. The two layers of fabric did fully cover the colour though!
Love that staple gun! (Seriously, it's one of my favourite tools of all time).
