My 11 Random Things!

A long while ago, Amy from shared a post called  My 11 Things. I really enjoyed her post and at the end of it she invited anyone reading to join in! I thought it was a fun idea, so why not join in! (even though I'm about 4 months late!)

The Five Rules
1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

I'm totally cheating and not making 11 new questions or tagging people to answer. I know how horrible! BUT if you are reading and want to join in, just go to Amy's post and you can answer her questions. They are pretty great questions!

11 Random things

1. I have a mug collection, and it is probably the best mug collection out there. I love it.

2. Every few years I get really annoyed by my hair so I cut it all off and donate it to Angel Hair for Kids. Following this big hair cut, I generally love it for a month and then hate it for about 6, but it's for a good cause so I don't really worry about it too much.

3. I would really love to be a rapper, for realz. But I'm a white girl who grew up in the suburbs so I just don't think it's in the cards for me.

4. I make to do lists about the to do lists I should make. Okay not really, but I'm obsessed. I will have literally nothing to do, as in, NOTHING and I will make a to do list just to feel busy. An example might be:
To do:
have lunch
go for a bike ride
have fun! :)
Wish I was kidding, but I definitely do this. And I definitely leave a lot of positive notes to myself, so "have fun" is one that shows up a lot. And often with smilies drawn. haha ohh yes, my life is this cool.

5. I think I'm an amazing dancer. I joke about it all the time, but I'm serious (and I think my friends have figured out I'm serious). I think I could have been the next star of So You Think You Can Dance had I been trained! These hips don't lie people!!

6. I love leopard print so much. An unreasonable amount really. I own enough leopard print clothing to be covered entirely from head to toe in it. I own multiple scarves (one is purple leopard print), multiple shirts, multiple sweaters/cardigans (one of which is purple leopard print) two pairs of tights (one pair is green leopard print), a pair of flats, sleeping shorts, and more. It's out of hand.

7. Some people have a "dream car", but I have a "dream dog". I've wanted a mini wiener dog (aka mini dachshund) for at least 5 years, but I'm waiting until I'm less nomadic to own one. I even have my dog name picked out, he or she will be called Sir Newton Weeny Friesen. I will also dress it up as a hot dog for Halloween, and I don't even care how lame that is.

8. I look up to Leslie Knope as if she is a real person. (She is the main character from the TV show Parks and Recreation, and Amy Poehler plays her, another, more real, role model of mine!)

9. I describe myself as a non-religious Mennonite, or 'ethnically Mennonite' and bug my friends to no end with how awesome I think it is. Most people from Winnipeg will probably understand what I mean by being 'ethnically Mennonite' but they probably won't understand why I think it's cool (just so you know, it's the food.. and the everything).

10. If I'm lucky enough to live to 70, I want to dye my hair dark purple, and then a million other wild colours until I get bored of it!

11: Kind of related to number 10, but I genuinely believe I will live to be exactly 100. (And I can't wait to get my letter from whoever the King or Queen is at that time!)

Now onto Amy's questions (my answers in italics):

1. What is your spirit animal? (This is mostly a joke. Roll with it.)
Pandas are my absolute favourite animal, but my spirit animal... hummm, monkeys probably!

2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
In high school a guy walked in on me changing and saw me completely topless, no bra, nothing. It was soo horrifying at the time. Now I can laugh at it, but I was SO embarrassed back then.

3. Would you rather have a tattoo of Patrick Swayze as a centaur or Chris Farley as a Chippendale's dancer?
Dang, this is a legitimately hard question. Probably Chris Farley, but I'd never really know if I'd made the right decision.

4. What is playing on your iPod right this instant?
The Bends, by Radiohead. (So glad it wasn't One Direction.... not that I'd listen to them...)

5. What is your dream place to live? If money and practicality weren't issues?
Sweden! Always Sweden!! The country has always interested me. I would want to live in the capital Stockholm and it would be just fabulous!

6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be three completely unrelated things.
- Environmental Engineer (This is what I studied in University. Lucky me, I actually want to do it!)

- Mid-wife (specializing in home births, because they are amazing!)
- A City Counsel Member, or an MPP, or MP... Although I haven't decided if I could actually do politics, people always seem to change their beliefs once they get elected and I'd be so sad if that happened to me.
We'll see, maybe I'll get to be all three!

7. If you could play any musical instrument, what would it be and why?
Fiddle! I juuuuuust started lessons, so I don't know if this counts. I used to play it as a young kid, and I've always wanted to get back into it and I finally am.

8. If you had to wear one pair of shoes every day for the rest of your life, what pair would it be?
If I'm living somewhere without winter definitely my Gizeh Birkenstock sandels. If I am somewhere with winter, then probably my purple Converse.

9. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Mine is donuts, FYI. Serious.)
Oh man, this is so hard. I'm a food phases person; I can eat something for a month straight but then the next day not even be able to look at it. So I don't know. If I had to pick, I think I'd say nachos, with LOTS of cheese and no olives. I tend to love them most frequently.

10. Would you rather kiss a wookie or an ogre?
Wookie without question.

11. What is your favorite part about spring?
The smell after spring rain. It is so lovely and distinctly spring smelling. :)

That is all for the random facts of the day! If you are interested in joining in, please do go to Amy's post to grab her questions, and come back here to leave a comment telling me you did so I can read your answers!
