Something Sunday 11: Hand molded mugs!

About a month ago my sister and I had a 'clay date' and made some mugs at Play with Clay in Guelph. It was a ton of fun! I was a little overwhelmed when we started because I didn't realize there would be so many restrictions (as it turns out, you can't just wing it!). But I ended up being able to come up with something I was excited about.

Julia (my sister) stuck with a more traditional mug, but definitely got creative in her painting, where as I went a little wonky with my mug shape.

Mine is on the left and hers is on the right (if the initials didn't give it away.) I'm pretty excited by how cute they look together!

Julia decided to paint a little heart at the base of hers, so I immediately decided to copy her and do the same! I think they are just great.

I think she also put the imprint of her initials into her mug first. I am just realizing now how much I copied her, and I'm her older sisters.... I don't think we have this figured out right!

  1. Neat. I've never been to one of those make it-bake it places before. Sounds like fun! At a recent festival I took the girls to there was a potter demonstrating and making little vases in a minute flat! My youngest decided that she needed to learn how to do that too!
