Another Quilt...

I finally got started on my new quilt for my bed, and I am loving it! (I bought the fabric a year about, so I'm quite excited to finally be sewing this project)

Normally I cut everything first, and then sew/iron at the same time, but this type of quilt top requires a lot more back and forth between sewing and cutting. It feels very freeing to just put the pieces together as they look appealing to me.. its exciting! It's going to be a fun change to my current bed quilt (which I will post about soon).

Here's the little bit I have so far...

I only finished 1 square this evening, but it was a ton of fun, and it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. I am making an abstract style quilt, which is very different them I am used to. I am used to using a ruler and making sure everything aligns perfectly, so making a more abstract quilt is a totally different ball game for me.

The plan is to have LOTS of the maroon colour in the quilt, with accents of the lime and lots of colourful stripes.

To bad I actually have homework this week or I'd be sewing my heart out!
