A new quilt, for Quilts Recover!

After finding out about the Quilts Recover charity, I looked through my stash and found a great set of fabric to make a quilt out of. Because of my job this summer, I am away pretty much away every other week, so I don't have a ton of time to make it. The quilt I am making is very simple, but I hope it will still bring someone at Slave Lake a little comfort during this truly horrible disaster.

I (almost) finished the quilt top today, I just need to add a 2 inch border, and then I will be ready to baste it! I am going to visit a quilt shop on Saturday to get the rest of what I need! (I haven't been to a quilt shop in Winnipeg yet, and I am very excited to check it out!)

Oh hey there!
Well, that's it for now. It felt soo good to be sewing again, and I will hopefully have the next stage to post after next weekend.

  1. Hi, My name is Linda and I own the quilt shop in Slave Lake. I started a project I named "BLANKETING SLAVE LAKE WITH LOVE" and am taking care of he distribution of quilts to all the families who lost their homes. Your quilt is lovely and I know it will bring a smile to someone's face when they receive it. For more info on this check out my blog at Thanks so much for your contribution.
